Portuguese I and II Class Expectations:

In my Portuguese class, my students will work in cooperative groups. I teach using thematic units and students learn about the Culture of Portuguese speaking Countries while learning at the same time Spelling, Grammar, and vocabulary of the Portuguese Language.

Students will continuously work in project for each of the marking periods. Use of Oral Language is a must in every class. Students will continuously speak Portuguese during class and several incentives will be given to use the target language as much as possible.

In my class students will be given the opportunity to develop new Literacies, work in Internet Workshops, Projects, Inquiries, and Webquests through a variety of mediums. PowerPoint and Hyperstudio are two of the most popular choices, although sharing with Inspiration documents, Publisher, Word, Web pages, and Excel are equally appropriate and will be used by students.

Students will be provided with thoughtful rubrics, viable Web resources, and third-level questions and lessons that pivot around Bloom's taxonomy. In addition, students will be assessed using worksheets,  tests, group participation, homework, and projects "Project Based Learning".

Students have to follow the Posted class rules that they come up with at the start of the academic year together with the teacher and will follow the rules of the students handbook as well.
